Service Item Damages

This chapter contains all information on processing service item damages It is divided into the following sections:

Record Service Item Damages

This section describes how to record a service item damage. To do so, please proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Service Items page.
  • Open the service item for which you want to record a damage.
  • Click on Home > Show Damages in the menu bar.
  • Click on Damages > Record New Damages in the menu bar of the Service Item Damages page.
  • Enter the date on which the damage was recorded in the Date of Registration column. Type in h to use the current date.
  • Enter a description of the damage in the Damage Description column.
  • Optional: You can add images of the damage via the Upload images button. To do so, select image files as needed.

Your entries are saved automatically. You have successfully recorded a damage and added images of the damage.

This section describes how to link a damage to a service order. The link is displayed on the Service Item Damages page and allows you to open the linked document (e.g. the repair order) directly. To link a damage to a service order, proceed as follows:

Note

There has to be an open damage recording for the service item to proceed with the following description. How to record a damage to a service item is described in the Recording Service Item Damages section.

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Service Orders page.
  • Create a new service order for the repair of the service item damage or select an already existing service order.
  • In the Lines FastTab, select the service item which has an open damage and click on on **Line > Worksheet in the menu bar.
  • Click on **Damages > Show and Link Damage in the menu bar of the Worksheet.
  • Select the open damage and click on Link to Order > Link to Order in the menu bar. The damage line is linked to the service order and will be highlighted in yellow.

You have successfully linked an open damage with a service order. A new line with the damage description will be added to the Fault Comments FacBox FastTab on the Worksheet.

Opening Documents with Linked Damage

This section describes how to search for and open a document that is linked to a damage, e.g., a repair order. To do so, please proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Service Items page.
  • Open the service item for which you want to search for a document linked to a damage.
  • Click on Home > Show Damages in the menu bar. All damages recorded for this service item are displayed here.
  • Use the information in the Damage Description column to find the damage for which you want to open the linked document.
  • Click on Damages > Open Service Order in the menu bar.
  • The document linked to the damage is displayed.

You have successfully searched for and opened a document linked to a damage.

This section describes how to remove the link between a service item damage and a document. To do so, please proceed as follows:

Note

In order to remove the link between a service item damage and a document, you must first remove the link from the service item card and then remove the damage line from the service order. We recommend that you make a note of the damage description or service order number to avoid errors.

+ Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Service Items page.
+ Click on the service item from which you want to remove the link between the damage and the document.
+ Click on Home > Show Damages in the menu bar. All damages recorded for this service item are displayed here.
+ Select the damage using the noted damage description or service order number.
+ Click on Damages > Remove Damage Service Order in the menu bar.
+ Confirm the dialog window with Yes.
+ Confirm another dialog with Yes.

You have successfully removed the link to the service item damage on the service item card. Please proceed as follows to remove the damage from the service document:

+ Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Service Items page.
+ Click on the service item from which you want to remove the link between the damage and the document.
+ Click on Home > Show Damages in the menu bar. All damages recorded for this service item are displayed here.
+ Use the information in the Damage Description column to select the damage for which you want to remove the link to the document.
+ Click on Damages > Open Service Order in the menu bar.
+ The document linked to the damage is displayed.
+ In the Lines FastTab, select the service item which has an open damage and click on on **Line > Worksheet in the menu bar.
+ Navigate to the Fault Comments FactBox FastTab.
+ In the relevant line, click on the selection field and select the Delete Line option.
+ Confirm the dialog window with Yes to delete the damage line.

You have successfully removed the link between the document and the service item damage. The damage can now be linked to a different service document.
