Service Management Setup
Über die Seite Serviceeinrichtung können Sie die Funktionen und Einstellungen für den Bereich Service in TRASER DMS 365 make. This page contains the General, Mandatory Fields, Default, Contracts, Numbering and TRASER FastTabs. The functions and settings developed by TRASER can be found in the TRASER FastTab. The remaining FastTabs contain mainly standard features of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central. The field developed by TRASER are described separately.
To set up the service management area, proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Service Management Setup page.
- You can make the following settings:

General | Here you can make settings, e.g., regarding Warning Intervals, the Service Job Responsibility Code, if you want to create a Shipment on Invoice, and where the Labor Costs Position shall be printed in reports. | One Service Item Line/Order – Activate the toggle switch if only one service item line or worksheet should be used per service item in a service order. If the toggle switch is deactivated, multiple service item lines of the same service item can be used in a service order. A separate worksheet is then created for each line. Copy Damages To – Specify, if and where to selected damages shall be copied in a service order. Show Release Message – If this toggle switch is activated, a message will be displayed after releasing a service document. Signpad for Cert. of Supply – Specify which documents require a certificate of supply with Signpad. Behavior Zero Prices – Select whether documents with zero price lines shall be posted (Empty), shall not be posted (Block posting), or if users shall be notified that zero price lines exist (Warning). If the Warning option was selected, users can decide via a dialog window whether to post a document with zero price lines. Resource for Standard Service Codes – Specify the resource to replace line in service orders with standard service codes. Default Comm. Details – Specify the person whose detailed information will be printed on reports. Hide lines with 100 % discount – Activate this toggle switch if service lines with 100% discount shall not be printed in service documents. Labor Costs Position – Select the position where labor costs shall be printed on service reports. Labor Aggregation Method – Select the labor aggregation method that shall be used by default in service reports/documents, if no Labor Aggregation Method is selected on the customer card or service order card. The possible options are None, Total Sum, Resource Groups, Resource Groups and Work Type, and Work Type. You can specify the Labor Aggregation Method individually per customer or service order. Alternative Positions will not be aggregated. Labor Aggregation Group Caption – Specify the caption of the labor aggregation group in a service document or report. You can store translations by clicking on Labor Aggregation Group Translation in the menu bar and entering the desired language code as well as the accurate translation. The corresponding translation is used depending on the language code of the document or report. Skip 0 Qty. lines in invoice printout – If this toggle switch is activated, lines with a quantity of 0 will be skipped when printing a service invoice, if the posted service invoice resulted from a partial invoice of a service order. No. of Fault Comment Lines – Specify the number of fault comment lines that shall be printed on the service worksheet report. If the value is empty, the default number of lines is 5. No. of Resolution Comment Lines – Specify the number of resolution comment lines that shall be printed on the service worksheet report. If the value is empty, the default number of lines is 10. Change Repair Status after printing Worksheet – Activate the toggle switch to set the repair status to In Progress after printing the worksheet. |

Defaults | Here you can make settings, e.g., regarding the Default Warranty Duration, Warranty Discount, and Default Meter. | Default Meter – Select the default meter that that will be set as Meter 1 on newly created service items. |
Contracts | Here you can make settings, e.g., regarding Text Codes for Contracts and Contract Invoices, as well as the Contract Value. | |
Numbering | Here you can make settings regarding various Number Series. | Maintenance Contract Nos. – Select the number series code that shall be used to assign numbers to maintenance contracts. |

Show Note Texts | If this toggle switch is activated, note texts will be displayed when you select a service item in a service quote or service order. |
Archive Orders | Select the method that shall be used for archiving service orders. |
Archive Quotes | Select the method that shall be used for archiving service quotes. |
Default Item Quantity | If this toggle switch is activated, the Quantity field is set to 1 by default when you enter an item number in service documents. |
Subcategory mandatory | If this toggle switch is activated, subcategories must be used in the product hierarchy. In this case, the related fields will be displayed. You cannot change this setting once a model or service item has been created with a subcategory. |
Series mandatory | If this toggle switch is activated, series must be used in the product hierarchy. In this case, the related fields will be displayed. You cannot change this setting once a model or service item has been created with a series. |
Dummy Service Item | Select a dummy service item that shall be used when creating service documents, if an item has not been created as a service item. |
Use Tracked Times | If this toggle switch is activated, the repair status selected on the worksheet for which Set Finishing Date is activated, determines the finishing date. Each subsequent status, which also has this option enabled, does not change the recorded date. However, if a status is selected that does not have this option enabled, the finishing date will be reset. |
Skip Splitting Documents for Internal Customers | If this toggle switch is activated, no split documents for machine community administrators will be created, if the bill-to customer is an internal customer. |
Assign Configuration | In this section, you can select journal templates for item postings, fixed asset reclassification postings, fixed asset G/L postings, and item revaluation postings, as well as the source code for assigning configuration. |
Unassign Configuration | In this section, you can select journal templates for item postings, fixed asset reclassification postings, fixed asset G/L postings, and item revaluation postings, as well as the source code for unassigning configuration. |
Maintenance Document Handler | Select here the document handler for maintenance contracts. |
Use Contract Templates | Activate this toggle switch to use templates in maintenance contracts. More information on maintenance contract templates can be found under Creating Maintenance Contract Templates |
Calculation Base (Item) | Select here the calculation base for items with capitalized service. Click here for more information on capitalized service. |
Calculation Base (Resource) | Select here the calculation base for resources with capitalized service. Click here for more information on capitalized service. |
Capitalized Service Reason Code | Select the reason code for the capitalized service. Click here for more information on capitalized service. |
Cap. Service Item Journal Template | Here, select the item journal template for the capitalized service. Click here for more information on capitalized services. |
Cap. Service Item Journal Batch | Here, select the item journal batch for the capitalized service. |
Delete Moved Time | Only when using orderbase Time Management: Activate this toggle switch, if orderbase time lines that are transferred to a new service order shall be automatically removed from the old service order. |
