Default Purchase Discounts and Default Sales Discounts

TRASER DMS 365 offers the possibility to set up default sales and purchase discounts which can for example be used in a Forecast. These discounts can either be created with fixed discount amounts or as a percentage so that the discount amount varies depending on the base discount amount. It is also possible in to apply discounts to an already discounted base amount. You can define up to 7 discount levels; this grouping of discounts will be call a discount scheme from here onwards. The contents of this chapter are divided into the following sections:

Creating a Default Purchase Discount

Please proceed as follows to set up a default purchase discount:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the page Default Purchase Discounts in TRASER DMS 365.
  • The page Default Purchase Discounts is displayed.
  • Fill in the fields according to the table below.
Field Description
Code Enter the code for the default purchase discount here.
Description Enter a specific description for the default purchase discount here.
Manufacturer Select a manufacturer eligible for the default purchase discount.
Category Select a category for which the default purchase discount will apply.
Subcategory Select a subcategory for which the default purchase discount will apply.
Series Code Enter a series code if necessary.
Model Select a subcategory for which the default purchase discount will apply.
  • Navigate to the Lines FastTab to define a discount scheme.
  • In the Discount Type column, select a purchase discount.

Note

If you haven't created any discounts yet, simply select the New option from the drop-down list in the Discount type column.

  • The window Select – Calc. Discounts is displayed.
  • In the Code column, enter a code for the calculation discount.
  • In the Description column, enter a description for the calculation discount.
  • In the Item Charge field, enter the item charge that is linked to the calculation discount.
  • To save the new created discount, click on OK.
  • The window Select - Calc. Discounts is closed and you will be navigated back to page Default Purchase Discounts.
  • In the Description column, enter a specific description for the discount.
  • If you want to set up a time-limited discount, you can specify a time span for your discounts by entering the Start Date and End Date in the corresponding columns.
  • Next, define whether the used discount is a percentage discount or a fixed discount:
Percentage Discount Fixed Discount
In the Discount % column, enter the percentage for the discount. In the Discount Amount column, enter the fixed discount amount. The checkbox Fixed Discount is automatically activated.

You have successfully added a default purchase discount. You can add as many default purchase discounts to a discount scheme as you need. The discount scheme functionality enables you to define discounts at different levels, allowing you to further reduce a base amount that has already been reduced by a discount (1st level) with a different discount (2nd level).

Please proceed as follows:

  • To move a discount to a different level, select Lines > Manage in the Lines tab.
  • Choose from the following options:
Symbol Description
Raise leveloutdent Increases the level of the discount.
Lower levelindent Reduces the level of the discount.

Note

The way you set up a discount scheme is entirely up to you. TRASER DMS 365 supports up to 7 discount levels.

You have successfully created a default purchase discount with a discount scheme. You can now use the standard purchase discount in a Forecast.

Creating a Default Sales Discount

Please proceed as follows to create a default sales discount:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the page Default Sales Discounts in TRASER DMS 365.
  • The page Default Sales Discounts is displayed.
  • Fill in the fields according to the table below.
Field Description
Code Enter a code for the default sales discount here.
Description Enter a specific description for the default sales discount here.
Manufacturer Select a manufacturer eligible for the default sales discount.
Category Select a category for which the default sales discount will apply.
Subcategory Select a subcategory for which the sales purchase discount will apply.
Series Code Enter a series code if necessary.
Model Select a model for which the default sales discount will apply.
  • Navigate to the Lines FastTab to define a discount scheme.
  • In the Discount Type column, select a sales discount.

Note

If you haven't created any discounts yet, simply select the New option from the drop-down list in the Discount type column.

  • In the Description column, enter a specific description for the discount.
  • If you want to set up a time-limited discount, you can specify a time span for your discounts by entering the Start Date and End Date in the corresponding columns.
  • Define if the used discount is a percentage discount or a fixed discount:
Percentage Discount Fixed Discount
In the Discount % column, enter the percentage for the discount. In the Discount Amount column, enter the fixed discount amount. The checkbox Fixed Discount is automatically activated.
