Default Purchase Discounts and Default Sales Discounts

TRASER DMS 365 offers the possibility to set up default sales and purchase discounts which can, e.g., be used in a forecast. These discounts can either be created with fix discount amounts or as percentage discounts, so that the discount amount varies depending on the base discount amount. It is also possible in to apply discounts to an already discounted base amount. You can define up to 7 discount levels; this grouping of discounts is referred to below as a discount scheme. The contents of this chapter are divided into the following sections:

Creating a Default Purchase Discount

Please proceed as follows to set up a default purchase discount:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Default Purchase Discounts page.
  • Click on an empty line.
  • Fill in the fields according to the following table:
Field Description
Code Enter a significant code for the default purchase discount here.
Description Enter a significant description for the default purchase discount here.
Manufacturer Select a manufacturer eligible for the default purchase discount.
Category Select a category for which the default purchase discount should apply.
Subcategory Select a subcategory for which the default purchase discount should apply.
Series Code Enter a series code, if needed.
Model Select a model for which the default purchase discount should apply.

You have successfully added a default purchase discount. You can now use the default purchase discount in a forecast. You can add as many default purchase discounts to a discount scheme as needed. You can find all important information on this in the following section: Setting up a Discount Scheme.

Creating a Default Sales Discount

Please proceed as follows to create a default sales discount:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Default Sales Discounts page.
  • Fill in the fields according to the following table:

Code Enter a significant code for the default sales discount here.
Description Enter a significant description for the default sales discount here.
Manufacturer Select a manufacturer eligible for the default sales discount.
Category Select a category for which the default sales discount should apply.
Subcategory Select a subcategory for which the sales purchase discount should apply.
Series Code Enter a series code, if needed.
Model Select a model for which the default sales discount should apply.

You have successfully added a default sales discount. You can add as many default sales discounts to a discount scheme as needed. You can find all important information on this in the following section: Setting up a Discount Scheme.

Setting up a Discount Scheme

You can define up to 7 discount levels in TRASER DMS 365 as a discount scheme. The discount scheme functionality enables you to define discounts at different levels, allowing you to further reduce a base amount that has already been reduced by a discount (1st level) with a different discount (2nd level). The structure of a discount scheme can be fully customized. Please proceed as follows to set up a discount scheme:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Default Purchase Discounts or Default Sales Discounts page.
  • Click in the line of a discount for which you want to define a discount scheme.
  • Navigate to the Lines FastTab.
  • In the Discount Type column, select a purchase or sales discount.

Note

If you haven't created any discounts yet, select the New option from the dropdown list in the Discount Type column.

  • The window Select – Calc. Discounts is displayed.
  • In the Code column, enter a code for the calculation discount.
  • In the Description column, enter a description for the calculation discount.
  • Enter the item charge that is linked to the calculation discount into the Item Charge field.
  • To save the newly created discount, click on OK.
  • The Select - Calc. Discounts window is closed and you will be redirected to the Default Sales Discounts page.
  • In the Description column, enter a specific description for the discount.
  • If you want to set up a time-limited discount, you can optionally specify a time span for it by entering the Start Date and End Date in the corresponding columns.
  • Specify if the used discount is a percentage discount or a fixed discount:
Column Discount Type Explanation
Discount % Percentage discount In the Discount % column, enter the percentage for the discount.
Discount Amount Fixed amount In the Discount Amount column, enter the fixed discount amount. The Fixed Discount checkbox is automatically selected.
  • To move a discount to a different level, choose from the following options in the menu bar of the Lines FastTab.

Raise levelOutdent Increases the level of the discount.
Lower levelIndent Reduces the level of the discount.
  • Repeat the previous step as needed for any number of discounts.
