Item Barcode Labels
This chapter contains all important information regarding barcode labels. In TRASER DMS 365, you are able to define which information is printed on the barcode label. This allows you to customize barcode labels. The chapter is divided into the following sections:

- Printing Barcode Labels for (Service) Items
- Printing Barcode Labels for Lines
Setting up Barcode Labels
To set up barcode labels and define the information they contain, please proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Barcode Label Setups page.
- To design a new barcode label, click on New in the menu bar.
- Fill in the fields of the Barcode Label Setup Card according to the following table:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Code | Enter a code for the barcode label. You can freely choose the code. |
Description | Enter a significant description for the barcode label. |
Label Type | Select the type of label you want to set up. |
Number Type | Select whether the Item No. or Vendor Item No. shall be printed on the barcode label. |
Layout Code | Select a layout code here. For more information on creating layout codes, click here. |
No. Of Fields | This field is automatically filled by the system with the information from the layout code. |
Size | This field is automatically filled by the system with the information from the layout code. |
Symbology | This field is automatically filled by the system with the information from the layout code. |
VAT Bus. Posting Group | This field is automatically filled by the system with the information from the layout code. |
- Navigate to the Lines FastTab.
- Add the fields that shall be printed on the barcode label by filling in the columns using the information in the following table:

The No. Of Fields specified in the Layout Code determines the maximum number of fields you can add.
Column | Description |
---|---|
Field No. | Enter the field number for the field that shall be printed on the barcode label. |
Field Caption | This column is automatically filled with the field caption of the selected field. |
Printout Caption | Manually enter a caption for the field on the barcode label, if you want it to differ from the field caption. |
Bold | Select this checkbox if the field shall be printed bold on the barcode label. |
Separator | Select how the individual fields on the barcode label shall be separated from each other. |
Calculate Gross | Select this checkbox if you want the gross amount to be calculated for the added field. This can be useful if you e.g. want to print the Unit Price field both in gross and in net on the barcode label. |
Print Currency Symbol | Select this checkbox if you want to print the currency symbol for the selected field. |
You have successfully defined which fields shall be printed on the barcode label.
Setting up Layout Codes
To set up a layout code, please proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Barcode Label Setups page.
- Open an existing Barcode Label Setup Card.
- Click on the Layout Code field.
- Click on New at the bottom of the dropdown list.
- Fill in the fields of the line according to the following table:
Column | Description |
---|---|
Code | Enter a code for the layout. |
Description | Enter a significant description for the layout code. |
Size | Select the format in which the barcode label shall be printed with this layout. |
Symbology | Select the symbology for the barcode label. |
No. Of Fields | Enter how many fields shall be printed on the barcode label. After creating a layout code, you can specify the type of fields on the Barcode Label Setup Card. You’ll find more information on this here. |
Text Font Size | Enter the text size for the text that will be printed after the barcode. |
VAT Bus. Posting Group | Select the VAT Business Posting Group that shall be printed on the barcode label. |
- After filling in all fields, confirm your entries with OK.
You have successfully set up a layout code that you can now use on the Barcode Label Setup Card.
Printing Barcode Labels for (Service) Items
To print the barcode label for a (service) item, please proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Service Items or Items page.
- Select the (service) item for which you want to print the barcode label.
- Click on Home > Print Barcode Label in the menu bar.
- Under Label Setup Code, select a barcode label that you have created during barcode label setup.
- Select the desired printer in the Printer field.
- Click on Print to print the label.
- Optionally, you can make further settings in the print preview as needed.
You have successfully printed a barcode label.
Printing Barcode Labels for Lines
You can also print barcode labels for individual lines as well as items or bin codes within a line. This is currently possible for Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Service Worksheets, Warehouse Receipts, Warehouse Shipments, Warehouse Picks, and Item Transfer Journals. To print a barcode label for a line, proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find one of the previously mentioned pages.
- Open the Document for which you want to print a barcode label.
- Navigate to the Lines FastTab.
- Select the line for which you want to print a barcode label.
- Click on Line > Functions > Print Barcode Label in the menu bar of the Lines FastTab.
- In the dialog, select whether the barcode label should be created for the entire Line, only the Item or only the Bin.
- Click OK to confirm your selection.
- The Print Barcode Label page is displayed.
- Under Label Setup Code, select a barcode label that you have created during barcode label setup.
- Select the desired printer in the Printer field.
- Click on Print to print the label.
- Optionally, you can make further settings in the print preview as needed.
You have successfully printed a barcode label for a line.
