Item Barcode Labels

This chapter covers everything you need to know about barcode labels. In TRASER DMS 365, you are able to define which information is printed on the barcode label. This allows you to customize barcode labels.

Setting up Barcode Labels

To design a new barcode label, please proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the page Barcode Label Setups.
  • To design a new barcode label and define what information should be printed on the label, click New in the menu bar.
  • A new Barcode Label Setup Card opens.
  • Fill in the fields using the information in the table below.
Field Description
Code Enter a code for the barcode label. You can freely choose the code.
Description Enter a description for the barcode label.
Label Type Select the type of label you would like to set up.
Number Type Select whether the Item No. or Vendor Item No. should be printed on the barcode label.
Layout Code Select a layout code. Click here to find out how to set up a layout code.
No. Of Fields This field will be filled out automatically once you have set up a layout code.
Size This field will be filled in automatically with the information from the layout code.
Symbology This field will be filled in automatically with the information from the layout code.
VAT Business Posting Group This field will be filled out automatically once you have set up a layout code.
  • Navigate to the Lines FastTab and add the fields that should be printed on the barcode label. Please take into consideration that you can only add as many fields as you have stored on the layout code card.
  • To add fields, fill in the columns using the information in the table below.
Column Description
Field No. Enter the field number for the field that should be printed on the barcode label.
Field Caption This column is automatically filled with the field caption of the selected field.
Printout Caption Manually enter a caption for the field on the barcode label if you want it to differ from the field caption.
Bold Activate this checkbox if the field should be printed bold on the barcode label.
Separator Select how the individual fields on the barcode label should be separated from each other.
Calculate Gross Activate this checkbox if you want the gross amount to be calculated for the added field. This can be useful if, for example, you want to print the Unit Price field both in gross and in net on the barcode label.
Print Currency Symbol Activate this checkbox if you want to print the currency symbol for the selected field.

You have successfully defined which fields should be printed on the barcode label.

Setting up Barcode Label Codes

Please read the section on Setting up Barcode Labels before you perform the following steps.

To set up ay layout code, please proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the page Barcode Label Setups.
  • Open an existing Barcode Label Setup Card.
  • On the Barcode Label Setup Card, navigate to the Layout Code field.
  • Click on the selection field in the Layout field.
  • The Barcode Label Layouts page opens.
  • To create a new layout code, click New in the menu bar.
  • A new line is added. Fill in the fields in the line according to the information in the table below.
Column Description
Code Enter a code for the layout.
Description Enter a description for the layout code.
Size Select the format for the barcode label you are setting up.
Symbology Select the symbology for the barcode label you are setting up.
No. Of Fields Enter how many fields should be printed on the barcode label. After creating a layout code, you can specify the type of fields on the Barcode Label Setup Card. For information on this, click here.
VAT Business Posting Group Select the VAT Business Posting Group that should bw printed on the label.
Text Font Size Enter the text size for the text that will be printed behind the barcode.
  • After filling in all fields, click on OK.

You have successfully set up a layout code that you can now use on the Barcode Label Setup Card.

Printing Barcode Labels for (Service) Items

To print the barcode label for a (service) item, proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the page (Service) Items.
  • On the (Service) Items page, select the (service) item that you want to print the barcode label for.
  • The (service) item card is displayed.
  • Click on Home > ‌Print Barcode Label in the menu bar.
  • Under ‌Label Setup Code, select a barcode label that you have created in Setting up Barcode Labels.
  • Then, click on Print to print the label.
  • A print preview is displayed.
  • You can now select your printer, make adjustments to the settings and print your label.

You have successfully printed a barcode label for a (service) item.

Printing Barcode Labels for Lines

You can also print barcode labels for individual lines or the items or bin codes within a line.
This is currently possible on the following pages:

  • Sales Orders
  • Purchase Orders
  • Service Order Worksheet
  • Warehouse Shipments
  • Warehouse Receipts
  • Warehouse Picks

To print a barcode label for a line, proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find one of the pages mentioned above.
  • Open the document for which you want to print a barcode label.
  • The respective document is displayed.
  • Navigate to the Lines FastTab.
  • Select the line for which you want to print a barcode label.
  • Click on Line > Functions > Print Barcode Label in the menu bar of the Lines FastTab.
  • A dialog window is displayed.
  • Select whether the barcode label should be created for the entire Line, only the Item or only the Bin.
  • Confirm your selection with OK.
  • Under Label Setup Code, select a barcode label that you have created in Setting up Barcode Labels.
  • Then, click on Print to print the label.
  • A print preview is displayed.
  • You can now select your printer, make adjustments to the settings and print your label.

You have successfully printed a barcode label for a line.

Tip

This function can also be used in the Item Reclassification Journals. To do so, open the page Item Reclassification Journals via the quick search (ALT+Q) and click on Line > Print Barcode Label in the menu bar for the corresponding line.
