Freight Charge Management
This chapter describes how freights and freight charges are managed in TRASER DMS 365. It is divided into the following sections:
- Setting up Shipping Agents
- Setting up Shipping Agent Services
- Automatic Mapping of Freight Information in Documents
Setting up Shipping Agents
To e.g. set up an automatic mapping of freight information in documents, such as the shipping agent, you must first set up shipping agents in the system. To do so, please proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Shipping Agents page.
- To create a new entry, click on New in the menu bar.
- Fill in the columns according to the table below:

| Code | Enter the code for the shipping agent here. |
| Name | Enter a name for the shipping agent here. |
| Package Tracking URL | Enter the URL for the package tracking website, if available. |
- Your entries will be saved automatically.
You have successfully set up a shipping agent.
Setting up Shipping Agent Services
You can set up shipping agent services for a shipping agent, which can later be used e.g. to set up the automatic freight charge mapping in documents. To do so, please proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Shipping Agents page.
- Select the desired shipping agent, then click on Shipping Agent > Shipping Agent Services in the menu bar.
- Fill in the columns according to the following table:

| Code | Enter a code for the shipping agent service here. |
| Description | Enter a significant description for the shipping agent service. |
| Shipping Time | Enter the time period between the shipment of items from the warehouse until delivery. |
| Base Calendar Code | Enter a code for the base calendar to be used for shipment planning here. |
| Customized Calendar | This field shows if the base calendar is a customized calendar. |
| Freight Resource | Enter a resource that will be used for the automatic calculation of freight charges in sales quotes and sales orders. To use a resource as a freight resource, you need to activate the toggle switch Freight Charge on the respective resource card. You can find the Resources page via the Quick Search (ALT+Q). |
| Freight Charge | Enter the amount of the freight charges that will be automatically added in sales quotes and orders. |
| Maximum Weight | Enter the maximum weight in grams for shipments with this shipping agent service. |
| Maximum Volume | Enter the maximum volume in cubic centimetres for shipments with this shipping agent service. |
| Compatible With Dangerous Goods | Select the checkbox if the shipping agent is authorized to transport dangerous goods. To specify an item unit as dangerous goods, please follow the instructions under Marking an Item Unit as Dangerous Good. |
- Your entries will be saved automatically.
You have successfully set up the shipping agent service for a shipping agent.
Automatic Mapping of Freight Information in Documents
You have the option to add certain information regarding delivery as well as freight charges to service order types in TRASER DMS 365. This feature is available in sales quotes and orders. If a corresponding service order types is added to a document, the added information will automatically be transferred to the document. To set up automatic mapping of freight information in documents, please proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Freight Charge Mappings page.
- To create a new entry, click on New in the menu bar.
- Fill in the columns according to the following table:

| Service Order Type | Select the service order type to map the freight information to. |
| Shipping Agent | Select the shipping agent you want to link to the service order type. To ensure that the automatic assignment of freight information will work in documents, please also check that this information is also stored on the respective customer card in the Delivery FastTab. |
| Shipping Agent Service | Select the shipping agent service you want to link to the service order type. To ensure that the automatic assignment of freight information will work in documents, please also check that this information is also stored on the respective customer card in the Delivery FastTab. |
| Shipment Method | Select the shipping method you want to link to the service order type. |
- Your entries will be saved automatically.
You have successfully mapped freight information to a service order type. If you select this service order type in the documents listed above, the freight information will be added automatically. If you have selected a shipping agent service with freight charges, a new resource will be added to the document on release, showing the freight charge of the shipping type.
