Standard Service Codes#
This chapter describes how to set up and use standard service codes. These allow you to set up standardized tasks (e.g. inspecting a specific machine) including labor and item costs in advance. Standard service codes can then be added to a service order instead of adding the components individually. This saves time and standardizes recurring service processes. The chapter is divided into the following sections:

Standard Service Codes Setup#
Before standard service codes can be used, they must first be set up. To do so, please proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Standard Service Codes page.
- Click on New in the menu bar to create a new standard service code.
- Fill in the fields of the Standard Service Code Card according to the following table:

General | Code | Enter a significant name for this standard service code. |
Description | Enter a significant description for this standard service code. | |
Currency Code | Select a currency code for this standard service code. This specifies the currency on the standard service lines linked to the standard service code. | |
TRASER | Work Type Code | Select a work type which is linked to the standardized service. |
Default Worktime Amount | If the the checkbox in the Default Time column in the Lines FastTab of the standard service code is activated, this field displays the summed up amounts from the standard service lines. This field cannot be edited. The amount is transferred to the calculation lines. | |
Checklist Template | Here, select a checklist template. This template is used for the automatic creation of checklists for service orders. | |
Attributes | In this FastTab, you can enter attributes regarding information for Manufacturer, Category, Subcategory, Series and Model. This standard service code can then only be selected for service items with the respective attributes. Not all attribute fields have to be filled out. It is also possible to set up the standard service code only for service items of a certain manufacturer and a certain category. | |
Fix Price | Activate | Activate this toggle switch if fixed prices should apply to this standard service code. If the toggle switch is activated, the other fields in the FastTab can be edited. You can specify if there should be fixed prices for Labor, Parts, Resources or Costs. Under Amount, you can enter a total amount for the complete standard service. If a standard service code has a specified fix price, the corresponding data is transferred to the fields of the service order or service quote. If several standard service codes with fix prices are selected, these prices are summarized in the service order or quote. |
Labor | Enter a fixed price for labor. This field sums up all resource lines which have an activated checkbox in the Labor column and uses this fixed price instead. | |
Parts | Enter a fixed price for spare parts. | |
Resources | Enter a fixed price for all resources, whether or not the checkbox in the Labor column has been activated. | |
Costs | Enter a fixed price for costs. | |
Amount | Here you can enter a total amount for the complete standard service. | |
Lines | In this FastTab, you specifiy in separate lines which Items, Resources, Costs or G/L Accounts are contained in this standard service code. These lines are then transferred into the service order or quote when this standard service code is selected. |
Tip
You can store Fault Comments, Resolution Comments and Internal Comments in the FactBox area (ALT+F2). To do so, click on the caption of the respective FastTab, then click on Edit. You can now enter the desired comments as well as the date in a text editor.
You have successfully set up a standard service code.
Inserting Standard Service Codes into Service Documents#
Standard service codes can be added to service quotes and orders. To do so, please proceed as follows:

There already has to be an item line in the Lines of the service document to insert a standard service code.
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Service Quotes or Service Orders page.
- Select the desired service document or create a new one.
- Navigate to the Lines FastTab.
- Click on Functions > Get Std. Service Codes... In the menu bar.
- Select the desired standard service code by clicking into the respective line. If you cannot select the desired standard service code, check its settings.
- Optional: Use Control + Left Click to select multiple standard service codes.
- Click OK to confirm your input.
You have successfully inserted a standard service code into a service document. All information stored in the standard service code are transferred into the service document.
Adding Checklist Templates for Standard Service Codes#
You can add a checklist template to a standard service code in order to automatically generate checklists. To do so, please proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Standard Service Codes page.
- Select the standard service code to which you want to add a checklist template or create a new one.
- Navigate to the TRASER FastTab on the Standard Service Code Card.
- Select the desired checklist template in the Checklist Template field. Your changes are saved automatically.
You have successfully created a checklist template for automatically generated checklists.
