Aptean ECM Connect x Continia Document Output
Aptean ECM Connect x Continia Document Output ist eine Erweiterung für Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, die Continia Document Output nahtlos mit Aptean ECM Connect verbindet.
When Continia Document Output creates and sends a business document, e.g., an outgoing invoice or a purchase credit memo, this extension automatically captures the created document and forwards it to Aptean ECM Connect for archiving. This documentation is divided into the following sections:
Functionality
The integration runs entirely in the background. The following steps are performed automatically once a document is created via Continia Document Output:
- A user triggers document creation via Continia Document Output (e.g., sending an outgoing invoice via email, printing, or saving it).
- Continia Document Output creates the document (usually as a PDF).
- The extension automatically captures the created document.
- The document is transferred to Aptean ECM Connect and archived in the connected document management system.
In standard operation, no further user intervention is required.
Reprocessing Failed Documents
In rare cases, a document may not have been successfully archived, e.g., due to a temporary system error. To address this, the extension provides the CDO Post-Processing function on the ECM Connect 365 Report Export Entries page, so that it is not necessary to recreate the document via Continia Document Output. Proceed as follows to reprocess a failed document:

Only entries with the export status In Use can be reprocessed. Entries that have already been successfully archived and have the Ready status are not affected.
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the ECM Connect 365 Report Export Entries page.
- Optional If needed, apply filters to narrow down the entries to be processed, e.g., by creation date or document type.
- Click Actions > CDO Post-Processing in the menu bar.
- The system reprocesses all matching entries with the export status In Use and transfers the documents to the connected document management system.
- A confirmation message displays how many entries were successfully processed.
You have successfully reprocessed a failed document.
