Usability Tips

This chapter contains helpful information regarding functions that facilitate using MaschinenParkOnline and allow a better overview of relevant data. It is divided into the following sections:

Mandatory Fields

Fields that are marked with a red asterisk Mandatory Fields are mandatory, i.e. they must be filled in.

Keyboard Shortcuts

The following keyboard shortcuts can facilitate using MaschinenParkOnline.

Action Keyboard Shortcut Description
Close ESCAPE Closes the opened card/page.
Continue ENTER Continues to the next entry field.
New ALT+N Creates a new data record.
Show/Hide FactBox Area ALT+F2 Shows or hides the FactBox area in tables/lists.
Select Lines SHIFT + ARROW KEY Select multiple lines in lists.
Select All Lines CTRL+A Select all lines in lists.
Update CTRL+F5 Refreshes the page in the web client and updates the displayed data.
Changing View CTRL+F12 Changes between wide and narrow view.
Search LOCK+F3 Immediately takes you to the search field on the relevant page.
Show Filters SHIFT+F3 Shows/hides a menu with predefined filter options.
Quick Filters ALT+F3 Quickly filters a list or table by the selected value. Pressing the shortcut again resets the filter.
Reset Filters CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+F3 This keyboard shortcut resets all applied filters.

Showing More/Less

In Machine Cards and Contact Cards, you can switch between a detailed and a reduced view. The reduced view of machine cards is useful, e.g. If you want to show the machine card to a customer without displaying internal information such as margins. To change the page view, please proceed as follows:

  • Click on Machines > All Machines or Contacts > Contacts in the navigation bar.
  • Click on the desired Machine or Contact.
  • Click on Show More or Show Less in the General FastTab.

You have successfully changed the page view. The system automatically saves the last view you accessed.

Searching in Lists

In MaschinenParkOnline, you can search for data records in all lists. To do so, please proceed as follows:

The process shown here is demonstrated using the All Machines list. It works analogously for all tables.

  • Click on Machines > All Machines in the navigation bar.
  • Click on Search in the action bar. Alternatively, press SHIFT+F3 to be taken immediately to the search field on the currently opened page.
  • Enter your search term into the search field, e.g. a model name. You can search for complete words or parts of words and can also use the following search criteria:

All data records with fields containing man, not case sensitive. For example, Mannheim, manual or Roman.
'Man' All data records with fields containing Man, case sensitive.
Man* All data records with fields starting with Man, case sensitive. For example, Mannheim, but not manual or Roman.
@Man* All data records with fields starting with man, not case sensitive. For example, Mannheim, manual, but not Roman.
@*man All data records with fields ending with man. For example, Roman, but not Mannheim or manual.
  • Confirm with ENTER.
  • The table is filtered by all data records that contain the search term that matches with the search criteria.

You have successfully searched for data in a list.

Sorting in Lists

You can sort data records in all lists in MaschinenParkOnline in ascending or descending order. To do so, please proceed as follows:

The process for sorting data shown here is demonstrated using the All Machines list. It works analogously for all tables.

  • Click on Machines > All Machines in the navigation bar.
  • The All Machines list is displayed.
  • Click on the arrow pointing down next to the column by which you want to sort data records.
  • To sort the lines in ascending or descending order, click on the respective menu option.

Tip

Alternatively, you can sort a selected column in ascending or descending order by clicking on the column caption. Another click reverses the sort order.

You have successfully sorted data records in a list. This is indicated by a corresponding arrow after the column caption. Sorted views will not be saved, i.e. the next time you access the respective table, it will be displayed in the default view.

Opening and Editing Lists in Excel

You can also open all lists from MaschinenParkOnline in Microsoft Excel. To do so, please proceed as follows:

Please note that you can not import changes made in Excel into MaschinenParkOnline. This function is therefore only suitable for external processing.

  • Navigate to the desired table, e.g. All Machines.
  • Click on Open in Excel in the action bar.

Tip

Filters are considered when exporting data. If you only want to export specific data records, you can filter them beforehand by the desired criteria.
