- Damages that were existing before the rent period can be registered via the Lines of a Delivery.
- Damages that occurred during the active rent period can be registered via the Object Lines of a Rent Contract.
- At the end of the rent period, occurred damages can be registered via the Lines of a Return.
These cases will be described in the following sections.
Tip
It can be defined for final invoices for rent contracts to be posted even if damages were registered for service items in the contract, e.g., during delivery or return. You can find more information about this in the Rent Setup chapter. If you don’t want to set this in general but only for individual damages, open the respective rent contract via the quick search (ALT+Q), then navigate to the object lines and click on Yes in the Has Damages column. Then activate the Not Rent Contract Relevant checkbox in the dialog window. The damage in question does not affect either the creation of the final invoice or the conclusion of the contract.
