Transfers
In our ERP solution, transfers can be carried out in two different ways. Ad hoc transfers are facilitated through the use of the item reclassification journal provided that the warehouse shipment and warehouse receipt occur simultaneously. Planned transfers between different locations are carried out via a transfer order. This chapter is divided into the following sections:
- Enabling Advanced Dimension Assignment in Transfer Orders
- Carrying out Transfers via Reclassification Journals
- Carrying out Transfers via Service Item Cards
- Carrying out Transfers via Sales Orders
- Carrying out Transfers via Transfer Orders
- Inventory Movements
- Return Inventory Movements
- Setting up Automatic Transfers
- Setting up Automatic Reservations when creating Transfer Orders
- Setting up a Target Location for Unplanned Movements in Tasklet Factory Mobile WMS
Enabling Advanced Dimension Assignment in Transfer Orders
You can configure the system so that new dimension codes can be specified in transfer orders to ensure that the dimensions are always updated correctly upon posting. This is particularly relevant when different dimensions should be used for the original location code and the new location code. By activating the advanced dimension assignment, the new dimension values can either be entered manually in the transfer documents or, if corresponding global dimensions are specified for the location, are transferred automatically. To activate the function, proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Inventory Setup page.
- Navigate to the Core/Deposit Part Functionality section in the General FastTab.
- Activate the Advanced Dimension Handling in Transfer Documents toggle switch.
You have successfully set up transfer orders so that new dimension codes can either be entered manually or are automatically assigned when corresponding dimensions are specified for the original location and new location. This ensures that inventory and G/L entries are always posted with the correct dimensions.
Carrying out Transfers via Reclassification Journals
CAUTION!
The reclassification journal should be reserved for emergency situations and utilized only when no controlled warehouse system is in place. This practice is crucial for preventing wrong or inadequately documented transfers and for maintaining inventory accuracy.
To carry out a transfer via the reclassification journal, proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Item Reclassification Journals page.
- Enter the item you want to transfer into the Item No. field.
- Enter the location and bin where the items are currently stored into the Location Code and Bin Code fields.
- Enter the location and bin where the items should be transferred to into the New Location Code and New Bin Code fields.
- Enter the quantity you want to transfer into the Quantity field.
- If you have activated the advanced dimension assignment in transfer orders, additional columns are available for assigning dimension codes, e.g., KST Code and New KST Code. In this example, the KST Code column corresponds to the dimension code of the original location, while the New KST Code column contains the dimension code of the new location. If corresponding global dimensions are specified for both locations, the columns are filled in automatically. Alternatively, you can enter the values manually.
- Now you can select Post from the menu bar to carry out the transfer.
- If you want to transfer all items of a bin to another bin, you can also use the Get Bin Content action in the menu bar.
You have successfully carried out a transfer via the reclassification journal.

Inventory Movements
The following sections describe how to carry out inventory movements in service orders and sales orders.
Carrying out Inventory Movement via Service Worksheet
In our ERP solution, you can carry out an inventory movement, i.e., the physical movement of an item from the warehouse to a workshop bin, via the worksheet of a service order. This can be useful, e.g., if a spare part is needed during a service. The spare part can then be added to the worksheet. The inventory movement notifies the responsible employee to transfer the spare part from its location to the workshop bin. To carry out an inventory movement, proceed as follows:
Note
The following description assumes that the Split Put-Away Lines and Create Workshop Bins Automatically toggle switches have been activated on the location card. More information on setting up locations can be found here.
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Service Orders page.
- Open the service order for which you want to create an inventory movement.

Note
If you try to create an inventory movement for a service line due to a changed required item quantity, and an unregistered inventory movement already exists for that line, a notification is displayed in a dialog window. In this case, you first have to complete the existing inventory movement and then create and register another inventory movement for the remaining item quantity using the steps described above.
You have successfully completed an inventory movement. How to reverse inventory movements is described in the Carrying out Return Inventory Movements via Service Worksheets section.
Carrying out Transfers via Sales Orders
In our ERP solution, you can carry out an inventory movement from the location to the pick-up bin via the sales order. A pick-up bin is a specified location where goods are made available for customer collection or further loading. The inventory movement notifies the responsible employee to transfer the goods from the location to the pick-up bin. To carry out an inventory movement, proceed as follows:

Setting up a Target Location for Unplanned Movements in Tasklet Factory Mobile WMS
Note
This section is only relevant when working with Tasklet Factory Mobile WMS.
With Tasklet Factory Mobile WMS, you can use the Unplanned Movement function to move items from one bin to another without a previously created document. To avoid manually selecting the target location for every movement, you can set up a default target location for each warehouse employee and source location, which is then automatically suggested on the scanner. To do so, please proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Warehouse Employees page.
- Open the line of the warehouse employee and location for which you want to set up a target location.
- In the Tasklet Target Location field, select the desired target location.
You have successfully set up a target location for unplanned movements. If a warehouse employee changes the Location field to the source location set up here during an unplanned movement on the scanner, the New Location field is automatically filled in with the configured target location.
