Item Barcode Labels
You can design your own barcode labels in our ERP solution and customize their size, layout, and the displayed information. This chapter contains all the important information about barcode labels and is divided into the following sections:

Setting up Layout Codes for Barcode Labels
Layout codes allow you to store standardized layouts for different types of barcode labels in our ERP solution. Please proceed as follows to create a layout code:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Barcode Label Setups page.
- Open an existing Barcode Label Setup Card.
- Navigate to the Layout Code field in the General FastTab.
- Click New at the bottom of the dropdown list to set up a new layout code.
- The Select - Barcode Label Layouts window is displayed and a new line is added.
- Fill in the fields of the line according to the following table:

|---|---|
| Code | Enter a unique code for the layout. |
| Description | Enter a significant description for the layout code. |
| Size | Select the format in which the barcode label with this layout should be printed from the dropdown menu. |
| Symbology | Select the desired symbology standard for the barcode label from the dropdown menu. Possible options are Code 39, Code 128, QR Code, or Data Matrix. |
| No. Of Fields | Enter the desired number of fields on the barcode label. These fields can be defined in more detail on the Barcode Label Setup Card after creating the layout code. More information on this can be found in the Setting up Barcode Labels section. |
| Text Font Size | Enter the font size for the text that will be printed on the barcode label. |
| VAT Bus. Posting Group | Select the VAT Bus. Posting Group to be used for gross price calculation in the Barcode Label Setups. |
- After filling in all fields, confirm your entries with OK.
You have successfully set up a layout code that you can now use on the Barcode Label Setup Card.
Setting up Barcode Labels
To set up barcode labels and define the information they contain, please proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Barcode Label Setups page.
- To design a new barcode label, click on New in the menu bar.
- Fill in the fields of the Barcode Label Setup Card according to the following table:

| Code | Enter a unique code for the barcode label. You can freely choose the code. |
| Description | Enter a significant description for the barcode label. |
| Label Type | Select here what the label is to be used for, e.g., for an Item, Bin, Fixed Asset, Warehouse Activity Header, or Warehouse Activity Line. |
| Number Type | Select whether the Item No., Vendor Item No., or Serial No. should be printed on the barcode label. |
| Layout Code | Select the desired layout code or create a new one. For more information on creating layout codes, click here. |
| No. Of Fields Size Symbology VAT Business Posting Group |
These fields are automatically filled by the system with the information from the selected layout code. |
- Navigate to the Lines FastTab.
- Select the fields you want to print on the barcode label. To do so, please use the information in the following table. You can add a maximum of the No. Of Fields specified in the layout code to a barcode label.

| Field No. | Enter the field number of the field you want to print on the barcode label. |
| Field Caption | This column is automatically filled with the field caption of the selected Field No.. |
| Printout Caption | Optional Enter the desired caption which should be printed on the barcode label instead of the Field Caption. |
| Bold | Select this checkbox if the field should be printed bold on the barcode label. |
| Separator | Select how the individual fields on the barcode label should be separated from each other, e.g., by a new line, tab, space, comma, semicolon, or pipe. |
| Calculate Gross | Select this checkbox if you want the gross amount to be calculated for the added field. This can be useful if you e.g. want to print the Unit Price field both in gross and in net on the barcode label. |
| Print Currency Symbol | Select this checkbox if you want to print the local currency symbol for the selected field. |
You have successfully defined the fields that should be printed on the barcode label.
Printing Barcode Labels for (Service) Items
To print the barcode label for a (service) item, please proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Service Items or Items page.
- Select the (service) item whose barcode label you want to print.
- Click on Home > Print Barcode Label in the menu bar of the (service) item card.
- Select the desired barcode label under Label Setup Code or click New to create a new barcode label.
- Click OK to confirm your selection.
- In the following window, select the desired printer in the Printer field.
- Optional In the No. of Copies field, specify how many barcode labels you want to print.
- Click on Print to print the label.
- Optional In the print preview, make further printer settings as needed.
You have successfully printed a barcode label.
Printing Barcode Labels for Lines
You can also print barcode labels for individual lines as well as items or bin codes within a line. In our ERP solution, this is currently possible for Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Service Worksheets, Warehouse Receipts, Warehouse Shipments, Warehouse Picks, and Item Transfer Journals. In this chapter, the process is described using a sales order as an example, but works analogously on all pages mentioned. To print a barcode label for a line, proceed as follows:
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Sales Orders page.
- Open the sales order for which you want to print a barcode label.
- Navigate to the Lines FastTab.
- Select the line for which you want to print a barcode label.
- Click on Line > Functions > Print Barcode Label in the menu bar of the Lines FastTab.
- In the dialog window, select whether the barcode label should be created for the entire Line, only the Item, or only the Bin.
- Click OK to confirm your selection.
- In the following window, select the desired barcode label under Label Setup Code or click New to create a new barcode label.
- Select the desired printer in the Printer field.
- Optional In the No. of Copies field, specify how many barcode labels you want to print.
- Click on Print to print the label.
- Optional In the print preview, make further printer settings as needed.
You have successfully printed a barcode label for a line.
Printing Barcode Labels for Warehouse Picks Automatically
Note
This section is only relevant when working with Tasklet Factory Mobile WMS.
You can set up a barcode label that is printed automatically as soon as you register a pick with Tasklet Factory Mobile WMS. To set up automatic label printing, please proceed as follows:
- Set up a new barcode label with the Warehouse Activity Header label type. For more information, click here.
- Then, use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Shipping Agents page.
- Click on the desired shipping agent.
- Then, click on Shipping Agent > Shipping Agent Services in the menu bar.
- In the Barcode Label field, select the previously created barcode label for the desired shipping agent service. For more information on setting up shipping agent services, click here.
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Printer Selections page and set up a printer for the Barcode Label report for your user.
You have successfully set up automatic barcode label printing for warehouse picks. When you register a pick with Tasklet Factory Mobile WMS, the system checks the shipping agent service of the related warehouse shipment. If the warehouse shipment uses the configured shipping agent service, the stored barcode label is printed automatically.
Tip
You can also print a barcode label with the Warehouse Activity Header label type directly in our ERP solution without Tasklet Factory Mobile WMS. To do so, use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Warehouse Picks page and click on Print > Print Barcode Label in the menu bar of the desired warehouse pick. In the warehouse pick overview, you can also use the multi-select function (CTRL + LEFT MOUSE BUTTON) to print barcode labels for several warehouse picks at the same time.
Printing Barcode Labels for Warehouse Activity Lines
Note
This section is only relevant when working with Tasklet Factory Mobile WMS.
With Tasklet Factory Mobile WMS, you can also print a barcode label for an item directly for individual warehouse activity lines. This is useful, for example, if you want to label your own packaging with different content quantities when splitting packages. To do so, please proceed as follows:
- Set up a new barcode label with the Warehouse Activity Line label type. For more information, click here.
- Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Printer Selections page and set up a printer for the Barcode Label report for your user.
- Then, open the desired warehouse pick or put-away in Tasklet Factory Mobile WMS.
- Press and hold the desired line to open the line menu.
- Tap the Print Item Label button. If several barcode labels with the Warehouse Activity Line label type are set up, select the desired label.
You have successfully printed a barcode label for a warehouse activity line.
