Service Item Configurations

This chapter contains all important information regarding configurations for service items. You can specify customized configurations as well as standard configurations for a service item. You can edit already created (standard) configurations for service items via the service item card, the calculation worksheet, or purchase orders. This chapter is divided into the following sections:

Setting up Configurations in Service Management Setup

Before you can assign/unassign configuration from a service item, you must first make some basic settings. To do so, proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Service Management Setup page.
  • Navigate to the Equipment DMS FastTab.
  • Please fill in the fields in the Assign Configuration as well as Unassign Configuration sections. You can find more information regarding the service management setup under Service Management Setup.

You have successfully made the required settings for assigning or removing service item configurations. Your entries are saved automatically.

Assigning Configurations via Service Item Card

Note

You can only assign configurations to a service item if the service item is in stock as inventoriable or a fixed asset. When assigning a service item that is managed as a fixed asset as configuration, a check is performed to ensure that the depreciation books of the main service item and the assigned service item match. Also note that any attributes added through the configurations page of the service item are automatically transferred to the Attribute Values table on the service item card. Vice versa, changes made to the service item card are also transferred to the configurations page. Additionally, a service item cannot be assigned to more than one other service item. Once a service item has been assigned to another item, it is no longer displayed in the list of assignable service items.

The assignment of service item configurations is described using an item as an example. To add configurations to a service item, proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the Service Items page.
  • Select the service item to which you want to assign configurations or create a new one.
