Date Formula
Definition
A date formula is a combination of letters and numbers that can be used to calculate date values in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, e.g., for invoicing intervals, delivery times, due dates, and payment periods. The following letters, which are abbreviations for calendar units, can be used in date formulas:
| Letter | Description |
|---|---|
| C | Current |
| D | Day(s) |
| W | Week(s) |
| M | Month(s) |
| Q | Quarter(s) |
| Y | Year(s) |
Date formulas can be formed according to the following patterns:
- C + Calendar Unit, e.g., CM for the current month
- Number + Calendar Unit, e.g., 2W for two weeks from today
- Calendar Unit + Number, e.g., T15 for the following 15th of a month
For more complex date calculations, these elements can also be combined, e.g., CM+7D for an invoice date on the seventh day after the end of the current month.
By default, date formulas calculate calendar days. In certain fields, e.g., for calculating the delivery date, the working days of the base calendar are used instead.
