Attributes
Definition
In the context of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, attributes refer to characteristics that can be used to describe (service) items in more detail and define them individually. Each attribute is assigned one of the following value types:
- Text – e.g., for material specifications
- Boolean – e.g., for Yes/No information, such as whether air conditioning is available
- Option – e.g., for selecting the engine type
- Integer – e.g., for the number of gears on a machine
- Decimal – e.g. for the height of a machine
- Date – e.g. for the model year of a machine
This enables searching and filtering for specific characteristics, which makes attributes a helpful addition to (service) item categories. Unlike equipment, which can be attached and removed, attributes are unchangeable technical characteristics of a (service) item.
