Transfer
Definition
Transfer refers to an essential logistics process in which goods are transported and transferred from one location to another. This is used for optimized inventory management, e.g. to reduce storage costs or to have spare parts available at the location of a service order.
In TRASER DMS 365, transfers may be carried out in two ways:
- Ad-hoc transfer
- Planned transfer
Ad hoc transfers are used primarily for the internal reorganization of items and bins. Planned transfers between different locations are carried out via a transfer order, if necessary via a temporarily set up in-transit location. With TRASER DMS 365, planned stock transfers between two locations that are in close proximity to each other can also be automated.
