OCR is an acronym for Optical Character Recognition. With the help of OCR, it is possible to convert text on scanned files or digital images into machine-readable text in order to be further processed.
OCR software such as Continia Document Capture saves time in work environments where both printed and digital data are captured, since handwritten or printed information does not need to be manually entered into a computer. Analog documents can be scanned and rendered machine-readable by means of OCR and then be automatically converted into digital content.
