Item Units

Definition

In the context of TRASER DMS 365, item units refer to base units of measure in which (service) items are stored in inventory. Examples for possible base units of measure include:

  • kilogram
  • liter
  • meter
  • pallet
  • piece
  • working hour

Specifying an item unit is relevant for purchasing and sales, as well as logistical storage and transport processes. It also serves as the basis for conversion to alternate units of measure that can be linked to (service) items. For example, large quantities can be assigned their own item unit (ton instead of kilogram).
