Dimension

Definition

In the context of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, dimensions are posting characteristics or values that can be assigned to data records to categorize, track, and analyze them. The more dimensions are used, the more detailed and insightful reports will be.

There are two types of dimensions in TRASER DMS 365:

  • Global dimensions
  • Shortcut dimensions

Global dimensions are always assigned to a specific data record, such as an item, with each data record having two global dimensions. Shortcut dimensions, on the other hand, can be added during postings, with up to six available per data record.
