Transfer

Transfers can be carried out in two different ways in TRASER DMS 365. Ad hoc transfers are facilitated through the use of the item reclassification journal provided that the warehouse shipment and warehouse receipt occur simultaneously. Planned transfers between different locations are carried out via a transfer order. This chapter is divided into the following sections:

Carrying out Transfer via Reclassification Journal

To carry out a transfer via the reclassification journal, please proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) in TRASER DMS 365 to find the page Item Reclassification Journals.
  • The page Item Reclassification Journal is displayed.
  • Enter the item you would like to transfer into the Item No. field.
  • Enter the location and bin where the items are currently stored into the Location Code and Bin Code fields.
  • Enter the location and bin where the items should be transferred to into the Location Code and Bin Code fields.
  • Enter the quantity you would like to transfer into the Quantity field.
  • Now you can select Post from the menu bar to carry out the transfer.
  • If you want to transfer all items of a bin to another bin, you can also use the Get Bin Content action in the menu bar.

You have successfully carried out a transfer.

Carrying out Transfer via Transfer Order

Note

To be able to carry out transfers via a transfer order, you might need to set up in-transit locations. An in-transit location serves as a provisional point where items are temporarily stored after leaving their initial location. To mark a location as an in-transit location, please proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the page Locations in TRASER DMS 365.
  • A list containing all locations is displayed.
  • Open a location that you would like to mark as an in-transit location.
  • Activate the toggle switch Use As In-Transit in the General tab.
  • You have marked the location as an in-transit location.

To carry out a transfer via the a transfer order, please proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) to find the page Transfer Orders in TRASER DMS 365.
  • A list containing all transfer orders is displayed.
  • To create a new transfer order click New in the menu bar.
  • An empty transfer order card is displayed.
  • Enter the location where the item is currently stored into the Transfer-from Code field.
  • Enter the location where the item should be transferred to into the Transfer-to Code fields.
  • If the transfer should be carried out via an in-transit location, enter an in-transit location into the In-Transit Code field. If the setup of the selected locations allows it, you can also carry out the transfer without an in-transit location. If so, activate the toggle switch Direct Transfer.
  • Navigate to the Lines fast tab and select the item you would like to transfer from the list in the Item No. field. You can also add multiple items to one transfer order.
  • Enter the quantity you would like to transfer into the Quantity field.
  • To release the order for the next processing step, select Release from the menu bar.
  • Then, select Post from the menu bar.
  • A new window is displayed.
  • Select Ship to post the Shipment.
  • Once the shipment has been carried out, select Post from the menu bar again.
  • This time, select Receive to post the Warehouse Receipt.
