Default Purchase Discounts
In TRASER DMS you can define default purchase discounts (for example manufacturer discount). You can combine these discounts to larger discount groups.
These discounts can either be created with fix discount amounts or as percentage discounts so that the discount amount varies depending on the base discount amount. It is also possible in TRASER DMS to apply discounts to an already concessional base amount. This is described in the following example:
The manufacturer grants the vendor a vendor discount of 10% for a machine at a price of 100,000 EUR. If the vendor can sell the machine within a certain period, it was agreed that the vendor will receive a further 5% discount on the price already reduced by the vendor discount.

Discount Calculation:
Entries | Level | Discount | Machine Price |
---|---|---|---|
Machine | - | - | 100,000 EUR |
Vendor Discount | 1. Level (green) | 10% | 90,000 EUR |
Help on Deal | 2. Level (blue) | 5% | 85,500 EUR |
In this example the machine price of 100,000 EUR would be the base amount for the vendor discount. The help on deal is applied on the concessional machine price which means that the base amount for the help on deal is not 100,000 EUR but rather 90,000 EUR. The discount Help on Deal of 5% is therefore 4,500 EUR.
In TRASER DMS you can define up to 7 discount levels. The grouping of discounts is subsequently called (discount) scheme.
This chapter is divided into the following sections:

Creating a discount scheme
This section describes how to create a discount scheme. In a discount scheme you can predefine one or more default purchase discounts for a forecast. Discount schemes can be defined for manufacturers, machine types and models.
Please proceed as follows to set up a discount scheme:
- Use the quick search in TRASER DMS 365 (ALT+Q) to find the page Default Purchase Discounts.
- The page Default Purchase Discounts is displayed.
- In the input field under the Code column, enter a code for the discount scheme.
- In the input field under the Description column, enter a description for the discount scheme.
- In the Manufacturer column, select from the drop-down list a manufacturer for who the discount scheme is to be used.
- In the Category column, select from the drop-down list a category for which the discount scheme is to be used.
- In the Subcategory column, select from the drop-down list a subcategory for which the discount scheme is to be used.
- In the Model column, select from the drop-down list a model for which the discount scheme is to be used. If a model has not yet been created in the system you will be asked whether you want to create a new model for this combination of manufacturer, category and subcategory.
- You have created a new discount scheme.
- Add the purchase discounts under the register Lines in the Discount Type column.
- Define if the used discount is a percentage discount or a fixed discount:
Percentage Discount | Fixed Discount |
---|---|
In the Discount % column, enter the percentage for the discount. | In the Discount Amount column, enter the fixed discount amount. The check box Fixed Discount is automatically activated. |
You have added a default purchase discount to the discount scheme. You can add any number of default durchase discounts to a discount scheme.
The functionality of discount schemes allows you to define discounts level-wise, so it becomes possible to further reduce a base amount which has already been reduced by a discount (1st level) by another discount (2nd level) (see Discount Calculation).
To move a discount in its level, select in the register Lines > Manage.
Symbol | Description |
---|---|
Increases the level of the discount. | |
Reduces the level of the discount. |
