Master Data Hints

You can can add hints to master data in TRASER DMS 365.
These hints will be displayed in a separate window as soon as you use a master data record in a document. The contents of this chapter are divided into the following sections:

Before you can create hints, you must grant the relevant user the permission to view hints for the different areas. You can find more information on how to do this here.

Creating Hints for Contacts

This section describes how to create a hint for a contact. To create a new master data hint for a contact, do the following:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) in TRASER DMS 365 to find the page Contacts.
  • The page Contacts is displayed.
  • Select the contact from the Contacts list that you want to create a master data hint for.
  • Click Related > Contact > Other > Hints in the menu bar.
  • The page Hint Texts is displayed.
  • Enter a Hint Text into the text field.
  • Activate the check boxes for the areas in which the hint text should be displayed to the users.

You have successfully set up a hint for a contact. Depending on the settings for this hint, the hint will be shown in the areas Sales, Purchase, Service or Rental (if the Rental module has been activated).

Creating Hints for Customers

This section describes how to create a hint for a customer.
To create a new master data hint for a customer, do the following:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) in TRASER DMS 365 to find the page Customers.
  • The page Customers is displayed.
  • Select the contact from the Customers list that you want to create a master data hint for.
  • Click Related > Customer > Other > Hints in the menu bar.
  • The page Hint Texts is displayed.
  • Enter a Hint Text into the text field.
  • Activate the check boxes for the areas in which the hint text should be displayed to the users.

You have successfully set up a hint for a customer. Depending on the settings for this hint, the hint will be shown in the areas Sales, Service or Rental (if the Rental module has been activated).

Creating Hints for Assets

This section describes how to create a hint for an asset.
To create a new master data hint for an asset, do the following:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) in TRASER DMS 365 to find the page Fixed Assets.
  • The page Fixed Assets is displayed.
  • Select the asset from the Fixed Assets list that you want to create a master data hint for.
  • Click Related > Fixed Asset > Hints in the menu bar.
  • The page Hint Texts is displayed.
  • Enter a Hint Text into the text field.
  • Activate the check boxes for the areas in which the hint text should be displayed to the users.

You have successfully set up a hint for a fixed asset. Depending on the settings for this hint, the hint will be shown in the areas Sales, Purchase or Rental (if the Rental module has been activated).

Creating Hints for Items

This section describes how to create a hint for an item.
To create a new master data hint for an item, do the following:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) in TRASER DMS 365 to find the page Items.
  • The Items page is displayed.
  • Select an item from the Items list that you want to create a master data hint for.
  • Click Item > Other > Hints in the menu bar.
  • The page Hint Texts is displayed.
  • Enter a Hint Text into the text field.
  • Activate the check boxes for the areas in which the hint text should be displayed to the users.

You have successfully set up a hint for an item. Depending on the settings for this hint, the hint will be shown in the areas Sales, Purchase, Service or Rental (if the Rental module has been activated).

Creating Hints for Resources

This section describes how to create a hint for a resource.
To create a new master data hint for a resource, do the following:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) in TRASER DMS 365 to find the page Resources.
  • The page Resources is displayed.
  • Select the resource from the Resources list that you want to create a master data hint for.
  • Click Related > Resource > Other > Hints in the menu bar.
  • The page Hint Texts is displayed.
  • Enter a Hint Text into the text field.
  • Activate the check boxes for the areas in which the hint text should be displayed to the users.

You have successfully set up a hint for a resource. Depending on the settings for this hint, the hint will be shown in the areas Sales, Purchase, Service or Rental (if the Rental module has been activated).

Creating Hints for Service Items

This section describes how to create a hint for a service item.
To create a new master data hint for a service item, do the following:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) in TRASER DMS 365 to find the page Service Items.
  • The page Service Items is displayed.
  • Select a service item from the Service Item list that you want to create a master data hint for.
  • Click Related > Service Item > Other > Hints in the menu bar.
  • The page Hint Texts is displayed.
  • Enter a Hint Text into the text field.
  • Activate the check boxes for the areas in which the hint text should be displayed to the users.

You have successfully set up a hint for a service item. Depending on the settings for this hint, the hint will be shown in the areas Sales, Purchase, Service or Rental (if the Rental module has been activated).

Creating Hints for Vendors

This section describes how to create a hint for a vendor.
To create a new master data hint for a vendor, do the following:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) in TRASER DMS 365 to find the page Vendors.
  • The page Vendors is displayed.
  • Select a vendor from the Vendors list that you want to create a master data hint for.
  • Click Related > Vendor > Other > Hints in the menu bar.
  • The page Hint Texts is displayed.
  • Enter a Hint Text into the text field.
  • Activate the check boxes for the areas in which the hint text should be displayed to the users.

You have successfully set up a hint for a vendor. Depending on the settings for this hint, the hint will be shown in the area Purchase or Rental (if the Rental module has been activated).
