Differential Taxation

This chapter describes how to use Differential Taxation in TRASER DMS 365.

Warning

Before using this function please make sure that you have the permission to use differential taxation in this particular case. You will find more information on this topic in our glossary when you look up Differential Taxation.

The basic idea behind differential taxation is that only the difference between the sale and purchase price of the item is subject to the VAT.

The contents of this chapter are divided into the following sections:

Setting up a Service Order Type for Differential Taxation

To be able to use the differential taxation functionality, you have to set up a service order type for differential taxation. More information on setting up service order types can be found here.

Certain columns on the Service Order Types are of importance when it comes to the differential taxation functionality. These columns will be described in the table below.

Column Name Description
Code Enter a code for the service order type (e. g. DIFFERENCE).
Description Enter a description for the service order type (e. g. Differential Taxation).
Trade-In Activate this check box to be able to select the service order type in trade-in documents.
Sales Activate this check box to be able to select the service order type in sales documents.
Gen. Business Posting Group Specify the gen. business posting group in this column.
VAT Business Posting Group Specify the VAT business posting group in this column.
Differential Taxation Activate this check box so the field Differential Taxation is shown on the relevant documents.

Set up VAT Prod. Posting Group for Differential Taxation

This section describes how you set up the VAT prod. posting group for differential taxation.
To set up the VAT prod. posting group for differential taxation, proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) in TRASER DMS 365 to find the page General Ledger Setup.
  • The page General Ledger Setup is displayed.
  • Scroll to TRASER.
  • In the VAT Product Posting Group (Differential Taxation) field, enter the correct product posting group or create a new VAT product posting group.

VAT Prod. Posting Group for Differential Taxation

You have successfully set up the VAT product posting group for differential taxation.

Setting up a Sales Account for Differential Taxation

This section describes how you set up a sales account for differential taxation. To set up a sales account for differential taxation, proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) in TRASER DMS 365 to find the page General Ledger Setup.
  • The page General Ledger Setup is displayed.
  • Scroll to TRASER.
  • In the Differential Taxation - Sales Account field, enter a sales account or create a new account.

Sales Account

You have successfully set up a sales account for differential taxation.

Setting up a Sales VAT Deduction Account for Differential Taxation

This section describes how to set up a sales vat deduction account for differential taxation. To set up a sales vat deduction account for differential taxation, please proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) in TRASER DMS 365 to find the page General Ledger Setup.
  • The page General Ledger Setup is displayed.
  • Scroll to TRASER.
  • Enter an account into the Diff. Taxation Sales VAT Deduction Account field or create a new account.

You have successfully set up the sales vat deduction account for differential taxation.

Differential Taxation on Service Item Card

Differential taxation is set up via the service item card.
To view the relevant field on the service item card, proceed as follows:

  • Use the quick search (ALT+Q) in TRASER DMS 365 to find the page Service Items.
  • The page Service Items is displayed.
  • To open a service item card, click on the service item.
  • Scroll down to the Customer tab.
  • In the Sell-to section, you will find the Differential Taxation (§ 25a) slider.
